Cutting it fine

It is very unusual for me to scrap this early in the working week but tonight I just needed to.  I thought I would challenge myself with not one but both Stuck?! Sketches for the month of April - nothing like an 11.59pm deadline to get the scrapping flowing.  Here is my take on the April 1st Sketch:
And a close-up:

And this is my take on the sketch for April 15th:
And, of course, another close up:
Feeling very rushed with this post as I need to get them into the Stuck?! gallery before 11.59.  Maybe I need to do challenges like this more often - certainly is one way to get the layouts pumped out lol.
I do have another layout to share but that might have to wait until tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by,

Tara's Quote Challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy this month was to focus on the word 'blessing'.  We were asked to find a quote about blessings or to use the word blessing in the title and journal about the blessing.  What better blessing is there than the gift of love?  Thanks Mum and Dad for the inspiration - your love really is one of life's greatest blessings.
And some closeups:
Journalling reads: I lvoe how happy Mum and Dad look on their wedding day.  They still look this happy forty years later.  Theirs is a forever kind of love.
 Thanks for stopping by.

Getting Savvy with it!

Last weekend was cybercrop time again over at Scrapbook Savvy. I was busy working on a secret squirrel project at the time so didn't get any of the challenges done. This week, work has not been kind to me so I have really needed something to help me take my mind off things. What better way to clear the mind than playing with pretty paper ;-) Not only have I managed to complete all of the cybercrop challenges but I have also managed to finish two of the regular month challenges. Yay!
Layout One: He Fills my World with Colour (Jen's product challenge - we had to use mists on our layout)

Layout Two: This Smile melts my Heart (Tara's colour challenge)

Layout Three: This is Living (Sara's Sketch Challenge)

Layout Four: How Cute? (Kerryn's puzzle challenge)

I can't share the fifth cybercrop layout just yet as it was the Blind Scrap Challenge.  Will upload as soon as the gallery is open.
In the last few days I have also managed to complete two of the monthly challenges.
Layout Five: Forever Love (Jen's Colour Combo Challenge)

Layout Six: Aussie of the Month (Sara's Sketch with a Twist Challenge)

So that is my scrappy happenings from the last few days.  Still a few more days to get the rest of the challenges done - just need to find the time to do them lol.
Thanks for stopping by.

These two people... and a little scrapping

These two people are the reason I have been absent for the last little bit. These two people are the reason I am here. These two people have given me every opportunity to make the most out of my life. These two people have shown me that no matter how tough things get, there is always hope.

And just who are these two people you ask???

These two people are my parents and on Easter Sunday they celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. I am sure that many of you will agree that this is an amazing achievement. No doubt there were many times that either of them could have walked out the door but they stuck it out. I feel very lucky that my sister, brother and I could honour them with a party on Easter Saturday. In the end it turned into a 70/40 party - 40 to celebrate the anniversary obviously and 70 because a short time ago, my Dad turned 70. Lots of long time friends and family members travelled from near and far to celebrate this special occasion.

Mum and Dad, I know that you are both TOTALLY computer illiterate (no offence intended) and you will never know that I have written this but I just want to say thanks; thanks for being there and giving us everything we needed to get on with our lives. I hope I can be half the parent that the two of you have been. I love you both more than words can say {{{hugs}}}

Speaking of wedding anniversaries, a few days after Easter, Tony and I notched up 13 years of marriage - not to shabby for a couple who were told that the marriage wouldn't last two years (don't even get me started on who said that one lol).

Apart from the first weekend, I didn't manage any scrapping over the holidays. Disappointing in some ways because I had grand plans but also happy because I managed 5 layouts before heading off to party central. All of the layouts were for the March Cybercrop over at Scrapbook Savvy and for the first time in a long time (possibly ever), I completed ALL of the challenges - yay me!

Layout One - Kerryn's Puzzle Challenge (we had to use wings, tabs, cogs, stars and brackets).
Layout Two: Sara's Colour Challenge (had to use aqua/turquoise, red, kraft, yellow)

Layout Three: Jen's Photo Challenge (use three or more photos on a layout) Photos are from our trip to Luna Park in Melbourne.

Layout Four: Tara's Sketch Challenge (which flipped and rotated)
Layout Five: Sar's Blind Scrapping (which I officially suck at lol. I skipped quite a few of the steps ... oops!)So that was the Cybercrop. There is another one happening again this weekend but I am not sure if I will manage to get anything done - have some secret squirrel scrapping to do which isn't going as well as I had planned so need to try and focus on that.
Thanks for stopping by.
