The story of my life at the moment

Well this is the story of my life at the moment - piles and piles of marking. I haven't really thought too much about how many words are sitting in front of me but those yellow piles equal about 30 000 give or take a few thousand.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the joys of marking research assignments - all 30 of them. I have done about 10 over the weekend (they take ages to get through) and aim to have the rest done by Tuesday so I can move onto this pile:
In the midst of all this I still had to all those lovely household chores - well ok I lie - all I did was wash and fold ... oh and a really quick sweep of the floor and made the beds. No vacuuming, dusting or mopping for me this weekend - maybe I will get to it next weekend lol.
Last night, I was totally braindead so I did these - plain and simple but I am slowly starting to accept the fact that this is how I scrap best (and i use the word 'best' very VERY losely lol):

Well there is nothing else to report at the moment I don't think. The end of semester frenzy is on and it is hard work trying to keep everyone sane for these last two weeks - me especially. Anyway off to watch 24 (yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm love love Keifer Sutherland).

Catch you soon.

Showntell

Well as promised, I am back today with pics of my pathetic attempt at splurging at the expo yesterday. Not sure if it was the whole car accident thing or if I was just in one of my 'moods' but there wasn't a lot there yesterday that I fell in love with. The one thing I did manage to bring home was more MyMind's Eye patterned paper- CANNOT get enough of this stuff lol.
As with most other Australian states, we had a public holiday here in Qld so I spent the day creating this in between trips to the washing machine and clothes line, trips to the farm to help Tony move machinery around and just chilling out:
Hope the rest of you had restful weekends. Back to work tomorrow and on the countdown til the June-July holidays and all the work that needs to be done before then.
Cheers

I went, I saw but I sure as heck didn't conquer

Well what a day it has been today. I had grand plans for the day but Murphy's Law took over. I had plans to travel to the Scrapbooking Expo in Brissy with a few friends from Dalby, until both couldn't go. Undaunted, I made plans with the lovely H-er to partake in the Expo together.
So little old me sets off on my merry jaunt just after 7am this morning but just before 8 it came to an abrupt halt when I became involved in a minor car crash after the car in front of me decided to slam their foot on the brakes suddenly. Well of course I did the only thing I could and braked as well only I got caught in an oil slick/wet patch of bitumen (it was showering at the time) and my brakes sort of locked up. Knowing the worst thing I could do was over-correct, I just tried to keep the steering wheel as straight as possible - no easy feat considering there was a motorbike pulled off to the left hand side of me (whose travelling partner had lost control in about the same area I did - well in fact that is why the car in front of me braked so suddenly - so he/she could gawk at the accident grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) and cars coming towards me. In the end I opted to try and miss the guy standing near his motorbike and ended up side-swipping the car coming towards me - completely knocking off my side-view mirror. Fortunately for me, the bullbar took most of the brunt, although sadly for the other car this was not such a good thing.
After a delay of almost 1 1/2 hrs waiting for the police to arrive, I set off on my merry jaunt again - why I didn't turn home is beyond me but hey, what sort of idiot knocks back a day with a beastie AND a scrapbooking expo lol.
By the time I made it to H-er's and had a minor repair job done on the mirror (thanks G), we set off for Southbank. Not sure what to expect as I had only been one other expo but I am still undecided as to whether I was 100% sold on this one. I didn't find it anywhere near as easy to get around and there didn't seem to be as much stuff on offer - or maybe I was just still in a state from the bingle but hate to admit it ladies, but I let the team down. Total purchases amount to 10 sheets pp, 1 pkt thickers, 1 pkt MM puffy alpha, 1 pkt My Minds Eye embellishments, 1 set of crate paper chippy letters and two pkts of random raw chippy alphabets.
OMG how pathetic is that??? LOL and I call myself a scrapper - what a joke hehehehehe
Will take some pics of the pathetic loot tomorrow lmao.
Cheers

Bella Prize Pack and a LO

Well after a completely crappy week there are no words that could express how glad I am that the weekend is finally here. I feel like I have been pulled in a thousand different directions this week and I have a sneaking suspicion that this will continue for a little while yet. I really hate this time of year - all the assessment pieces come in at once and the kids are starting to go stir crazy knowing that there is still 3 more weeks until holidays arrive. It is a day to day battle in the classroom to keep them focused and THEN i have to come home and deal with it all over again with Mitch and Lachie ... hehe oh the joys of being a school teacher hehe.
There have been a few highlights of my week though - a few encouraging words from close friends, students who amaze me by how mature they are and how dedicated they are towards their studies and go out of their way to let you know how much they appreciate the effort you make in helping them (sooooooooo makes the job worthwhile) and a special delivery in the mail:

How lucky am I??? This was the prize pack, donated by Bella! that I won for the May Cyber Crop over at Scrapbooking Memories - I showed you the pic a few posts down. Can't wait to get the desk cleared and use some of these yummy products.
No scrapping done at all this week but this is something I completed last weekend before the family arrived to help celebrate Master Lachie's 4th day:
Well I think that is it for now - contemplating whether or not to have a little kip or do some marking .......... hmmmmmmmmmm think sleep wins lol.
Til next time,
