Scrapbooking From Scratch April Challenges

This month over at SFS, Peta and the team have set a sketch challenge and a Project Life challenge. For the PL challenge, we had to journal in our own handwriting on three cards. Here is what I created:

Easter Scrapbooking

I was lucky enough to spend the Easter long weekend scrapping with some very talented ladies, who I am fortunate enough to call my friends - Donna White, Lisa Kamphuis and Lauren Bell. These three ladies challenge and inspire me in so many different ways. I love that we can sit and talk about anything and everything, not to mention all of the support and encouragement for each other's scrapping. Here are the layouts I created over the weekend:
Layout One: 2014 Badge Ceremony. Please excuse the tags on the layout - there is a third photo with people whose faces I can't show.

Layout Two: Bunya Record - a layout of Lachie receiving his certificate for breaking a record at the regional school swimming carnival. 

Layout Three - Love, Love, Love, Love - yet another wedding layout using a cut file Donna made for me. 

Layout Four: Oh So Happy - Lachie with his Age Champion trophy from the Darling Downs Trials last month. 

Layout Five: Selfies at the Dam. I will confess, this layout is lifted from Scrapbook 365 magazine. I have several sheets of the Dear Lizzy paper with the frames but always use the reverse side. The layout in the magazine used the frames so I knew I just had to use it. 

Layout Six: Warm Up Time. Mitch and his mate, Trent, heading out to the warm up pool at the State Primary School Swimming Trials. 

I also created three more layouts but I can't show them yet. I also created a Project Life style layout but you will have to check out my next blog post to see that.

Scrapped by Lachlan

At the start of the school holidays, we went on a camping trip. While camping/caravaning is not my favourite thing in the world to do, I love the opportunity to take time out from the stresses of life and relax. Knowing that we were heading away for 10 days, I packed a few scrap supplies to keep me entertained. When Lachie saw my stash he begged to do as layout. Here is what he came up with and with no help from me. He simply watched what I was doing and then went on his way.

I think he shares my love of mist splatters, wood veneers, flair and foam thickers lol.

Scrapped by Donna

Recently, I spent the day scrapping away with Donna White - one of the most talented scrappers I know. I am so lucky to live in the same town as her and look forward to our get togethers. She scrapped this layout of Mitchell for me.

Scrapping with Project Life Cards

While I am not into PL as such, I am amassing quite a collection of Project Life cards. Thanks to the inspiration of Donna, I am embracing using PL cards on layouts in place of patterned paper. Here is a layout using cards from the Honey, Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy collections

He Swims

Both of our sons swim competitively. While our youngest little man has to wait another year to be eligible to represent our region at the State level, it was all about Mitch this year. Here are some layouts from the regional trials and the Queensland 12 and Under Sprint Championships.

Layout One: Oh so Awesome - Mitchell and one of his best mates checking out the uniform lists while waiting to receive their medals.

Our Biggest Little Man ...

... has accomplished so much in the last twelve months. From achieving swimming goals, to being elected as House Captain, it has been a big year. This is the start of my documentation of his achievements.

Layout One: Mission Complete - a layout based on Mitchell's goal to make the Darling Downs Swimming Team this year. As the title suggests, he made it!

It feels good to be documenting Mitchell's achievements. I really need to find the time to keep going with them.

This Boy ...

... is funny. This boy talks non-stop. This boy is full of questions. This boy comes out with the funniest sayings which leave us bewildered as to where he gets them from. I am sure this boy has been here before - he really is an old head on young shoulders. Here is a glimpse of our life with this boy:

Scrap the Boys - April

This month over at Scrap the Boys, the challenge is to use flowers on a boy layout. I couldn't go past a photo of Mitchell holding my sister's bouquet last year:

Special Memories

I am slowly making my way through the pile of photos from my sister and brother-in-law's wedding last year and have almost filled an album. The ironic thing about this is that I have barely scrapped my own wedding. Here are some more layouts using photos from the big day:

Project Life with a Difference

Last month, the team at Scrapbooking from Scratch set the challenge of altering a 'traditional' Project Lie card. The requirements were to use 1 6x4" PL Card, 1 3x4" PL Card, Inks/Mists
Multiple photos, 1 Wood Veneer.

This is what I came up with: 

The photos are from the regional swimming carnival in March. The carnival runs over two days and both boys made it to the combine 8-12 year old 50m Freestyle Final - an amazing accomplishment for them both.

I just realised that I forgot all about the wood veneer - whoops!
