Lots of things in life make me happy - too many things to list really. One of the things that makes me most happy is seeing the relationship my boys have with their grandparents. They are lucky enough to have both sets of grandparents living in the same area and love spending time with them. Sadly, school and weekend sport takes up most of their time so we don't get to them as often as we like. However, when the opportunity comes up, in the car we get and across to them we go.
The boys and I had a flying trip across to my parents at the start of the school holidays. Like most trips, it wasn't long enough but we made the most of every minute. I snapped this picture of the boys with Nanny Goat and Poppy Choppy (that's a story for another time), just as we were about to leave. I love that none of them are looking at the camera but are caught up in the moment of sharing of joke.

There's Always One
Today I am sharing another layout using a photo from the drive around the farm the boys and I took recently. The photo sums up my boys perfectly - one always ready to ham it up for the camera, the other quite reserved.
And some close-ups:
Nothing else to say really - I love my two little pieces of chalk and cheese.
Cheers,

Little Farmer Men
Farm living means having lots of opportunities for photo shoots. Depending of the weather, each season sees different crops planted. At the moment we have paddocks of wheat and barley which are about a month away from being harvested. This meas the paddocks are still green but will gradually turn to gold as they ripen. The boys and I took a drive around last weekend to check the crops. I couldn't resist taking the camera with me.
Layout One - 2 (Based on the September 15 challenge for Stuck?! Sketches which I rotated)
Layout Two - Catch me if You Can - originally I was going to use all four photos on the same layout but once I found the Stuck?! sketch I used on the previous layout, I put the extra photo aside and used it to come up with this:
One day I hope to learn how to use my camera 'properly' (insert - get it off my favourite setting: Sports Mode) ... a girl can always dream ;)
Thanks for stopping by.

Soccer Fun
Soccer has come to an end for another season and I haven't scrapped too many layouts compared to previous years. Here is one featuring Lachie. He had a great season and proved to be one of the best defensive players on his team.
I am pretty sure this is based on a Stuck?! Sketch but I can't be 100% about that. I actually did this layout almost a month ago but haven't had time to blog it because I have been buried under a pile of marking.
Cheers,

Playing with Silver
When my sister got married last year, her colour scheme was blue, black and silver - colours of her favourite football team, the Cronulla Sharks. Silver was all the inspiration I needed to come up with these layouts.
Layout One: Family Love. This layout features my brother-in-law and his grandchildren. I used silver embossing powder and some silver stickers from Heidi Swapp as the silver features on this layout.
Layout Two: Love being together. Photos of my family. I grabbed a Crafter's Workshop template, my versamark and inked it onto vellum, covered it with embossing powder and heat set it. Almost like my own version of the awesome Dear Lizzy gold dot vellum that was so popular twelve or so months ago.
And what better way to add more silver than bunch up a pile of metallic silver thread.
I must confess that I am loving using embossing powders on vellum. The only real tip I can give you if you want to try it is to keep your heat tool a bit further back from the vellum compared to when you are heat setting on paper.
Cheers,

Playing with Colour
I am not a scrapper who likes mess. The thought of my craft mat being covered in paint, glue and other kinds of wet mediums is enough to make me want to crawl into a corner. Lately though, I have found myself wanting to make myself step outside my comfort zone so on a whim I grabbed some gesso, texture paste, templates and watercolour paints to come up with this:
Still clean and simple while getting my 'mess' on. And some close-ups: Thanks for stopping by.

September Scrap the Boys
'Domesticated Boys' is the challenge this month at Scrap the Boys. I couldn't go past scrapping this story of Lachie asking me if I could teach him how to iron ... what mother is going to argue with a child who wants to iron.
So that's my take on the challenge. Don't forget to link up your creation to the Scrap the Boys website by the end of the month to be in the running for some great prizes.
